About Samui

Lamai Beach, where Samui Beach Resort is located, is the second largest beach on the island and more laid-back than Chaweng. It is quieter than its big sister, but still features a variety of eateries and entertainment venues that you can comfortably reach on foot.

The beach itself is also less populated than the one in Chaweng and the white sand crescent is considered to be the finest of the island.

Chaweng Beach is certainly the longest and most lively beach of Koh Samui. The five kilometres long powdery white crescent is bordered by a reef and the tiny island of Koh Matlam to the north.

The central part is lined with resorts, bars and restaurants that give the place a carnival-like atmosphere after dark.

Bophut Beach is situated near the Samui Airport and the famous Big Buddha image. The two kilometres of white sand include the charming Fisherman's Village with it's old wooden houses, small shops and laid-back restaurants.

It is also the departure point for speedboats headed to the neighbouring island of Koh Phangan with its famous Full Moon Party.

Maenam Beach features five kilometres of white sand and excellent views of Koh Phangan. Not overly developed, it still has the tranquil feel of old Samui and is the perfect spot for a family day out.

It also has a pier for speedboats to Koh Phangan and the diver's paradise of Koh Tao.
